Grolsch
Beer Label Redesign

Self-initiated packaging redesign concept

While searching for a brand that carries heritage and history, Grolsch stood out. Founded in the year 1615, Grolsch has been providing beer to Dutch households, brewing staple beers in traditional and artisanal ways.

In re-imagining and creating the label of the historic, iconic beer, the imagery of centuries-old Dutch kitchenware and house decorative objects gave cues. Steering away from the simple, geometric representation of modern tendencies, the intentional use of icons and the overall decorative motif bring back the rich and romantic past of the Dutch Golden Age and thereafter. Multi-layered decorations around the Grolsch logo mark and the use of bold colors celebrate the unique Dutch identity that has been brewed through its illustrative history.

This project is unofficial can label design created for portfolio purposes.
